The CHIP Express™ digital tuning box is not a "replacement chip" where your ECU is physically opened and its original chip replaced - nor is it a "remap" whose settings can be detected and even deleted during routine servicing. The CHIP Express™ plug-in digital tuning system is a sophisticated additional microprocessor controlled tuning system which will give you substantial gains in power, torque and economy.
How the CHIP Express™ system works...
Our microprocessor controlled tuning systems contain multiple engine specific dynamic maps that are placed in the unit's memory. These are all dynometer tested and proven to give a very noticeable increase in performance. Once installed the unit will adapt to the individual characteristics of your vehicle and refer to any pre-programmed map at a rate of up to 40,000,000 instructions per second (40MHz). This allows intricate adjustments to the cars fuelling by precisely calculating the injection amount depending how the vehicle is being driven. This intelligent feature gives the unit the ability to work in harmony with your engine, providing economy or power depending on your driving requirements - all without the need for any complicated "manual" adjustment or tweaking, a feature never before seen on plug in applications!
Suitable for engines with particle filters...
A further advantage of CHIP Express™ system is its compliance with vehicle emissions standards. This new clean diesel technology works by improving combustion efficiency, facilitated by utilising the extra air available (as much as 50%), provided by the turbocharger whilst still remaining within its safe efficiency range. Because of this, installation of the tuning system is also possible in vehicles with diesel particle filters and urea injection.
More power by Adjustment...
While most tuning companies aim to provide maximum power, our aim is to improve the overall drivability of the car, making it feel smoother with a much more progressive power delivery. For this reason all CHIP Express™ systems come pre-set, adjustments are not necessary, you can simply plug-in and enjoy! However, if you prefer more performance the power settings can simply be increased in small increments using supplied instructions. This is particularly important to people who want the maximum power from their diesel or those who are planning to make further modifications to their vehicle such as a larger turbo, intercooler or sports exhaust system.
